The fight against global warming and for sustainable development can only be successful if humanity now thinks together about climate protection, biodiversity and social justice and takes into account their interactions on an equal footing in all political decisions – global, national and regional. According to German co-authors, this statement is the most important core message of a new scientific workshop report on “Biodiversity, Ecosystems and Climate Change”, which experts from the World Biodiversity Council (IPBES) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have jointly prepared for the first time. One of the main authors is paleobiologist Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kießling from FAU. Read more
