ERASMUS+ ARTEMIS_2 – Portable Analytics and Workshop

From 7 to 11 September 2026, the GeoZentrum Nordbayern, organized by the Chair of Endogenous Geodynamics, will host an international workshop for students.

The workshop will focus on the use of portable analytical instruments, including X-ray fluorescence (XRF) and Raman spectrometers, for the exploration of metal deposits. In addition to hands-on training with these instruments, participants will receive an introduction to the processing and interpretation of the analytical data obtained. Expert lectures will also provide an overview of the geological formation and economic significance of selected ore deposits. These lectures will serve as preparation for the subsequent field excursion, which will take place in northern Greece from 28 September to 10 October 2026.

The workshop and the field excursion are part of the ERASMUS+ project ARTEMIS_2. The project brings together students, doctoral researchers, and academic staff from the universities of Nancy, Athens, Thessaloniki, Bratislava, Budapest, and Erlangen.
