Climate change is progressing faster than we would have dreamed a few years ago. The consequences for people and the environment are already clearly noticeable, but we are only at the beginning of accelerating global warming. Climate sceptics often stress that climate change has always existed, but forget to mention the dramatic consequences it could have for life. Prof. Wolfgang Kiessling gave a lecture at the Long Night of Science on 19 October 2019 in the fully occupied Audimax on topics such as: Are there any possibilities left to mitigate climate change and its consequences? How does the connection between climate change and species extinction work?
