Species extinction as an opportunity: Public lecture by Prof. Wolfgang Kießling
Species extinction is a natural process of evolution. Today’s biodiversity on Earth is the result of the long-term dynamics of speciation and species extinction. These dynamics are complex in detail, but the broad patterns are surprisingly simple and regular on geological timescales. The lecture will highlight what we can deduce from these patterns for the future of evolution.
The lecture will take place as part of the lecture series of the Natural History Society (Katharinensaal, Am Katharinenkloster 9, Nuremberg) on February 22, 2018, at 7:30 p.m. Further information can be found here.
