I am interested in understanding how the earth works on various scales, ranging from tectonic deformation to glacial microseismicity. In order to study such phenomena, I work with seismological data from the network design and fieldwork to the data processing. For the geodynamic interpretation, I combine seismological observations with results derived from other geophysical and geological disciplines. This helps to increase knowledge on earth’s evolution and potential current and future geohazards.

  • DEFORM/Seismic Twister (since 2026): Embedded within the DFG Priority Program ‘DEFORM’ (Plate Deformation and Geohazards: The Eastern Margin of the Adriatic Plate), ‘Seismic Twister’ aims to map and understand crustal deformation in the Dinarides-Hellenides Transition Zone (Albania) by combining seismological and geological observations (https://gepris.dfg.de/gepris/projekt/560302743).
  • ELISE (since 2025): The interdisciplinary research initiative ELISE aims to investigate the deep underground of Vogtland and northwestern Bohemia (Germany and Czechia) to understand the causes of recurring earthquake swarms (https://www.gzn.nat.fau.eu/2025/08/11/eger-large-seismic-experiment-elise/).
  • CoSuMY (since 2024): ‘CoSuMY’ investigates how the transition from continental collision to oceanic subduction shapes 3D crustal and mantle deformation in Myanmar, situated along the eastern Himalaya syntaxis region (https://gepris.dfg.de/gepris/projekt/520947397).
